Here are all the things that I have learned in my two years of Sales at IBM. I will continue to add to this site as I get more time, but feel free to drop me an email with your comments.

  • P = R - C
    • This is the only equation that you will ever need to know to be an expert at business. You can start the converstation with any CEO with this equation. Ask the question, Which piece are you focused on? Most will say revenue, these days, a lot are shifting to cost. The next question should be how much do you want to decrease cost or increase reveune in terms of $$$. Have the CEO break it down piece by piece and then have him tell you which of his executive team members are responsible for each piece.

  1. Understand your Customer's Business and IT Environment
  2. Develop Plans that are Link to the Customer's Business Initiatives
  3. Establish a Buying Vision with the Customer
  4. Articulate your capabilites
  5. Develop the final solution
  6. Close the sale baby!
  7. Monitor the implementation and ensure that expectations are met!
